If you promote products through TikTok Shop Affiliate, you’ve probably seen a level next to your name: L0, L1, L2 and so on. It isn’t a follower milestone. It’s TikTok’s way of ranking how well you sell, and sellers use it to decide who they want to work with. Here’s what each level from 0 to 8 means and what to focus on at every stage.

What are TikTok Shop Creator Levels?

Creators are ranked from Level 0 to Level 8, and the ranking refreshes at the start of each month based on the previous month’s performance. A higher level reflects stronger sales and steadier affiliate activity, and it unlocks more benefits and support from the platform.

Only you and sellers can see your level, not regular TikTok users. Sellers can also filter creators by level when searching for partners, so your level directly affects who finds you.

What decides your level?

TikTok looks at more than sales alone:

  • GMV: the total value of sales driven through your videos, LIVEs and shared links.
  • Active days: days on which you consistently promote affiliate products through LIVE, short videos, or by sharing product links outside TikTok. TikTok
  • Product selection and e-commerce ability: this includes how varied the products you choose to promote are. TikTok

Levels can also go down. If your GMV or activity in the previous month falls below the minimum, you can lose a level, along with the benefits and campaign eligibility that came with it.

What decides your level?

Level 0: Just getting started

You’ve joined the program but haven’t made meaningful sales yet. Set up your profile, pick a niche, and start building active days by posting product videos, going LIVE or sharing product links. Your goal this month is a first sale.

Level 1: First sales coming in

You’ve shown your content can sell. Test different products and formats, and note which hooks and videos convert. Consistency matters more than polish at this stage.

Level 2: Building a routine

Move from experimenting to a repeatable system: a regular posting schedule, two or three content formats that work, and daily promotion to keep your active days high.

Level 3: Scaling what works

Double down on your best-performing formats. This is a good point to add LIVE selling alongside short videos so you aren’t dependent on one format.

Level 4: Broadening your product mix

TikTok looks at the variety of products you promote, so avoid relying on one hero product. Build a small portfolio that fits your audience and niche.

Level 5: Getting on sellers’ radar

Your results now work as your pitch. Keep your niche clear, your content consistent, and your communication with sellers professional.

Level 6: Running it like a business

At this volume, doing everything yourself gets hard. Build systems for scripts, editing, a LIVE schedule and a shortlist of trusted sellers, so your monthly numbers stay steady.

Level 7: Protecting your position

Higher levels give you access to stronger benefits and to campaigns like the Leaderboard, but a drop in level can cost you that access. Keep a steady content pipeline and spread your sales across several products. TikTok

Level 8: The top of the ladder

Level 8 is the highest tier, for creators who deliver strong sales and steady activity month after month. The focus shifts to sustaining results, testing new categories and building long-term relationships with sellers.

What decides your level?

  • Show up daily. Active days count toward your level, not just sales.
  • Mix formats. Use short videos, LIVE and link sharing together.
  • Choose products with proven demand, and vary them.
  • Check your Creator Center at the start of each month, when levels refresh.
